the hat The mystery explained...

what is with that #%#^$ hat?
Like those artsy photos of dining room chairs miscast in wild places, or Eleanor Antin's photographs of 100 boots, I decided to carry an icon that I will photograph in different places as I travel. Being less of an artist, I have chosen my symbol as a baseball cap featuring the logo of the Arizona Diamonbacks.

Now I am not a major fan of the team and have only attending one game, but they do represent my home city of Phoenix. Plus the snake logo is cool!.

So you will see various photos of this hat as I move around. It will be the icon that indicates my location on the "where's alan" maps. Plus it serves another function-- it is a hat!
