Woah, Thanks NMC for Matching Donations

Wow, can I say wow in 128 point font? This morning I used the communication tools the American Diabetes Association is providing us this year to send out about 80 some emails with my plea for sponsoring this year’s run. And did a lot of people respond quickly! Thanks to everyone who has responded early, [...]

Running in The City

cc licensed flickr photo shared by cogdogblog I’m in San Francisco for NMC meetings but the running schedule continues with a beautful 30 minute session along the Embarcadero. Stay tuned at dommy.com/ihaterunning This was my best pace yet since training started, I might only slightly hate running now… subject to change

Starting Over. Again.

I’m going to crank the I Hate Running Machine up again. It’s been 18 months since my last run (the PF Changs Rock and Roll Marathon in January 2008). I’d had spurts and stops of running, none more than a week at a time. I have started kayaking, which is fun and good upper body [...]

Plotting

For the 1 or 2 people who actually wander by here, I’m not going to be posting every little puny workout (cause they might be little and puny) and will aim for more of a weekly wrap-up. I’m not in training for anything specific except the biggest race- life and health. I am thinking about running [...]

Slow but Go in the Snow

The engine on the Excuse Chain was steamed up and ready to roll through today, and then my friend @soul4real shamed me on Facebook (from what I can tell she was watching football today), so I planned for an easy afternoon run. It snowed last night, but looked like it was lifting to just clouds. By [...]

Hey Camp Glyndon!

Since I’ve been picking up a string of comments about my Camp Glyndon post, I set up a Facebook group as a place for former campers (counselors too, of course) to re-connect. Check out the Hey Camp Glyndon group. If someone has a better logo, please send it my way. That is the best I could [...]

Medtronic Global Heroes Program Wises Up for 2009

A few months back i ranted a bit about the Medtronic Global Heroes program which discriminated against over 40 runners or ones with diabtetes more than 15 years for the Minneapolis Marathon. Who would have guessed, they are dropping these conditions for 2009 according to an email I just received: Alan, Thank you for your previous comments regarding [...]
