Don’t tell anyone, but I am secretly trying to start up running again… and I still hate it. But my A1Cs went over 8 then down to 7.5, and I need to get my glucose in order, and I am tired of thing around my gut, and the demon that sneaks in the house at night and shrinks my pants.
So I am starting with some really short runs, and relying on audio podcasts to keep me distracted. I’m also trying to get out once a week for some kayaking on a lake.
But keep it under your brim for a while. I have no plans to run a race or anything close to that.
Did you know... "The top 10 countries, in numbers of sufferers of diabetes, are India, China, USA, Indonesia, Japan, Pakistan, Russia, Brazil Italy and Bangladesh." (from World Health Organization)

Your secret is safe with me, Alan. And no pressure.
I know you hate running. But you like what it does to your body. You like being outside. You like being in touch with nature. You like the camaraderie.
Shoot, I think maybe you do like running.
Excuse me while I evangelize.
I did a track workout with Tim Bolen this morning. He’s a great coach. He had us all yelling, “I love running!” before starting the workout. “Say it like you mean it!” He yelled at us. And it worked. The workout was hard, but it was fun.
Running doesn’t have to be hard, but whether it’s easy or hard, it should be fun. Go to the places you like to run, join the people you like to run with, run (or walk, or both) the pace you like, the way you like.
Best wishes.
