5 is the New 3

RUN: 5.1 mi
(58:48)

When I started running last September, 3 miles seemed to be a good “average” run, which was before than, my own long distance record. Now that I am in second round of training, I am hoping a 5 mile jaunt becomes “just an everyday run”.

So today I ran 5 miles- my loop around Chaparral Lake, over to the Canals and around to Granite Reef Road. My pace was a bit stronger than the “just keep moving” shuffle I was doing in October. It felt good to be out, a week after the Rock and Roll Half Marathon.

And it was a bit faster than I have ever run this loop.

One day at a time.

Did you know... "In the U.S. population of adults born between 1931 and 1941, diabetes is associated with a profound negative impact on economic productivity. By 1992, an estimated 60 billion US dollars in lost productivity was associated with diabetes; additional annual losses averaged 7.3 billion US dollars over the next eight years, totaling about 120 billion US dollars by the year 2000" (from The impact of diabetes on workforce participation)
