This web site is dedicated to Morris Levine, a man known by many names-- "Mickey", "Blackie", "Mike"-- but most importantly, to me, "Dad". This is my history of my Dad, not the whole thing, but just some highlights in his honor. It as is much for me as it is for him. Therefore, the story starts with my earliest memories. Certainly he had a long history before me, but we start in April 1963 when I was born.

In May of 2001, Dad was diagnosed with inoperable cancer. Over the months, as he bravely faced the pain and discomfort of this ordeal, I gave a lot of thought to Dad. I decided to begin this chronology in his honor before he left us. I knew he would appreciate my work, as he always enjoyed viewing my computer projects. He was likely the only person that read every single word I wrote and looked at every photograph I tool during my 6 month sabbatical to New Zealand and Australia in July-December 2000 - in fact he had printed off every single page and organized it neatly into notebooks.

Dad only got to see the first three chapters here before he was admitted to the hospice, but he understood exactly what this tribute meant to me and why I was writing it. He left us, quietly, on August 27, 2001
