Arrived in Auckland September 1-22 for visits to UNITEC (Sept 04, 06, 08, 10, 11, 15, 20) and Auckland University of Technology (Sept 18). Various trips to Piha, Orewa, Rangitoto, Tiritiri Matangi. Visited the Coromandel Sept 22-29, at Kuaotunu and Mercury Bay beaches plus Coromamdel Town. Spent 4 rainy days in Roturua in town and an adventure looking for "Marokopa". Farther travel south to Taupo (Oct 4-5), Wanganui (Oct 6-7), and Palmerston North (Oct 8-9). Enjoyed a few days in Wellington Oct 9-11 before flying to Queenstown Oct 12 (bad weather diverted to Invercargill and bus ride to get to Queenstown). Stayover in Te Anau and overnight on Milford Sound (oct 13) with travel up through Wanaka to Franz Josef Glacier (oct 14-15), Hokitika and Punakaiki (oct 16-17), and Abel Tasman and Nelson (oct 18-20). Ferry crossing from Picton to Wellington for a few days visit (oct 21-22) followed by train ride north to Auckland (oct 23-25).

This part of the trip has now been completed! From Auckland I boarded a plane bound for Sydney for the third and final phase of this epic journey...
